The Slut Chronicles: Enslaved is the sequel to The Slut Chronicles: Betrayed. It chronicles Ishana's story from where it left off in the last book. After a concerning and shocking end to the previous book (read the review of the prequel here).

Author Kritika Sharma maintains the same mysterious tone to narrate Ishana's unfortunate life events. Ravi, the journalist, who was investigating Ishana's life, comes back to her place to know more about her. On Ravi's persuasion Ishana continues telling what happens after she was betrayed by the two people whom she loved very much. She tells her story about coming to Delhi with Shiva and Sarv and coping up with her college life. There she meets Pratham, her college senior and also a talented photographer who recruits her as his assistant. As she starts working for Pratham who works in the fashion industry, Ishana learns a thing or two about modeling and soon on Pratham's insistence and a little support from him, she starts modeling herself. Though it seems as her life has suddenly taken a good turn she starts facing problems from other models and stalkers. Along with that she has problems facing her feelings for Pratham and acknowledging his feelings for her. Her life soon takes a bad turn again and completely snatches away what little happiness she was left with.

I was as enthralled as I was when reading the prequel to this book. The book has a promising premise as well it has certain surprising elements and a lot of shocking turns. You won't be able to help but sympathize with her. So if you are looking for a romance thriller with lots of revelations, then this might be your book.

Though I loved the story, I have lots of problems with Ishana's character. In the first book, the author did pretty well in establishing a strong personality for Ishana, but somehow it all fell apart in this book. Most of the times Ishana was portrayed as a weak character, being indecisive, and ending up making really bad decisions considering the exact nature of problems she faced in her past. I loved the Ishana in the first book more than this one. It seemed that her character was a lot more dependent on her friends.

Also, the series is very Bollywood-ish. You'll get different dramatic elements like misunderstandings, troubles, and even dramatic proposals all packed into one. A lot of readers who are into these kind of books will really love this.

The writing style did not have much of an appeal to me. I loved the plot and that's why I loved the book as a whole. The language is quite simple and easy and I hope the author had indulged the readers with an in-depth characterization of Ishana. However I loved the story telling style. The author makes Ishana narrate her life story to a reporter and in this way Ishana moves back and forth to her past and present. While she recollects the events in her past, she reflects upon her behaviour in the present.
