Book review | Gypsy Soul: A bundle of soulful poems (Volume 2) by Sumitra Biswal
Gypsy Soul is a collection of poems that will make your head reel will giddiness. The poems romanticize little things in life, be it your struggles to become stronger, or your beautiful memories. Most of these poems are inspirational. For instance, when the poetess says
"It's all right,
If your dreams shatter
For you are stubborn enough
To build another"
in the poem It's All Right, i felt something click inside my brain. It was sudden surge of motivation. Very few pieces of literature has made me feel that way, and this is one of them.
There are two types of people on earth. One, who loves poetry and the other, who doesn't understand poetry. I belong to the second group of individuals. I don't consider myself a poetry person, but when I come across poems that I am actually able to understand, I fall in love with them. And if you get the gist of what I'm trying to tell you, it's quite obvious that Gypsy Soul has poems for people like me, who love a good, understandable, relatable poetry.
My favourites from the book are 'It's All Right', which, as I already said, talks about never backing down; 'The Arrogant Log', which talks about how arrogance can be the end of you; and 'Don't Turn Off', which is about living the life you want to live according to your rules.
These poems are like a breath of fresh air. It will take you to places, be it the beach or a cosy place beside the fireplace in the winters. Some of the poems are modernized, written for the gen z generation so that we can feel closer to the vibe of these poems. These handful of poems are sure to touch your heart and soul.
I received a copy of the book in exchange of an unbiased and honest review
